Kim Kardashian Defends Photo of Late Grandmother’s ‘Beautiful’ Foot in Tribute to Her Death

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum, 45, paid tribute to late grandmother Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon on Thursday, July 16, following her death — and included a picture of Shannon’s pedicured paw in the Instagram photo carousel.

In the comments section of Kim’s post, multiple people commented on the foot photo, which also included the feet of Kim, Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Kylie Jenner.

“But why did MJ have nicer toes than all yall! 😂,” one person wrote, garnering over 6,000 likes on the comment alone.

“Like did she ever walk,” one social media user questioned. “Lmaoo she got some nice feet.”

On Kim’s Instagram Story, the All’s Fair actress addressed the foot photo, writing: “And for anyone that knows my grandma knows she had the most beautiful feet in the world and she would want everyone to know lol.”

Following Shannon’s death at age 91, Kim posted a sweet tribute to her grandmother with photos of them through the years.

“My sweet Grandma MJ, my best friend, my gossip buddy, my forever twin… You taught all of us the importance of family, and those values are something we’ll carry with us forever!!!!!” the Kardashians star wrote in the caption. “You were the woman who showed me what it meant to be a hardworking businesswoman.”

“You gave me my very first job at your store in San Diego and taught me lessons about work ethic, strength, and confidence that I’ve carried with me ever since,” the reality TV star continued. “You always believed in me, championed me, and were my safe place. You truly were the matriarch of our family, and your love is woven into all of us. I know you’re at peace now.”

Kardashian family matriarch Kris, 70, was the one to break the news on Thursday, writing on Instagram, “Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ. There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye.”
