Kim Kardashian Slammed for ‘Completely Excessive’ Use of Personal Plane Amid Rising Fuel Prices
Kim Kardashian’s private jet reportedly flew a 9-minute trip from LA to Van Nuys — and now Kris Jenner is reportedly reading the Kardashians the riot act over excessive private jet use.
High-flying celebs are always catching flak from eco-activists for their gas-guzzling private jets. But according to a celebrity jets subreddit, Kim Kardashian has been particularly wasteful. As one poster noted, the 45-year-old’s jet was recently used to travel from Los Angeles to Van Nuys, Calif., for a flight time of approximately nine minutes. “This is insane,” wrote a poster. “Also way unnecessary.” (It’s possible the plane was simply being moved to another airport without Kim on board.)
“The Kardashians use their jets the way most people would use a car service,” an insider tells Star. “It’s completely excessive, but they justify it by saying they don’t have the time to waste an hour in traffic.”
If you factor in the trip to the airport, takeoff and landing time, however, that argument doesn’t quite, well, fly. Admits the insider, “It’s really about their image and how glamorous it is, they love that it’s something only the uber-rich can do.” But even the uber-rich have to worry about rising fuel prices, notes the insider: Matriarch Kris Jenner has been reading Kim and her sisters “the riot act” about taking short flights when a car would do.
