Milo Ventimiglia ‘Still Hasn’t Rebuilt’ After LA Fire But New TV Show ‘Puts Him One Step Closer’ (Exclusive)

Milo Ventimiglia has a lot to celebrate these days with a new baby and a brand new TV show on the way.

The 38-year-old actor, who is expecting his second child with wife Jarah Mariano, is set to headline HBO Max’s upcoming cop drama, American Blue.

Ventimiglia has “been hunting for a show that entirely rested on his shoulders and where he can do the kind of acting he’s always known he was capable of,” a source tells Star.

American Blue will give him the opportunity to do just that.

“HBO sees this as [the] next version of their Emmy-winning mega-hit The Pitt, where they slot a well-liked veteran actor into a gritty contemporary story that doesn’t pull any punches,” says the source. “For Milo, this is music to his ears and far more preferable to appearing in a Heroes reboot or a This Is Us clone.”

Getting greenlit is exactly the kind of good news Ventimiglia needed too, after his home burned down in the 2025 Los Angeles fires just weeks before Mariano, 42, gave birth to their first child, daughter Ke’ala.

“He still hasn’t rebuilt … but this new show puts him one step closer to that goal,” says the source, adding that with the “great money” he’s making on American Blue, Ventimiglia’s “finally got a shot at a new beginning that he and his family desperately needed.”

Of course, “it’s not about the money so much as it’s about securing his future in Hollywood when everything else he had here burned to the ground,” the source notes. “He can finally focus back on what he has instead of what he’s lost.”
