Hey, she’s been through a lot! Lily Allen hashed out the marital strife of her split from husband David Harbour on her hit album West End Girl.
But the 40-year-old recently revealed that she also indulged in some retail therapy to help heal the hurt. “You’ve got to treat yourself and mark the moment,” the singer told cohost and BFF Miquita Oliver on a recent episode of the Miss Me? podcast. She then revealed she’d bought herself a $160K Porsche, a $22,000 Hermès bag and a diamond-and-emerald ring, among other goodies. “I’m convinced I’m a billionaire.”

Soon, however, Lily realized she was overdoing the pricey self-care. Admitting she was “shopping like an insane person,” she told Miquita she headed to therapy to deal with the addiction, which affects from 8 to 16 percent of the U.K. population.
For Lily, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy helped address underlying trauma. The combo of eye movements and talk therapy has been “life changing,” she said, adding, “I’m not clear on the science but it’s working for me.”
