Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are still finding their footing with each other following their breakup.
On Wednesday, August 13, a source told Entertainment Tonight that “things between him [Bloom] and the singer still aren’t great,” noting the “relationship is a bit awkward and strained.”
The pop star, 40, and the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, 48 — who share 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove — called off their engagement after about six years in June. The following month, the “Firework” hitmaker was spotted dining with Canadian Prime MinisterJustin Trudeau in Montreal.
“They’re just having fun and getting to know each other,” the source told ET about Perry and Trudeau, 53. “Justin is charismatic and has great energy which is exactly what Katy needs at the moment. For now, things are just casual.”

A source previously expressed a similar sentiment to Star, explaining, “Katy seems smitten, and Orlando’s feeling the burn,” as “he’s seeing she’s doing just fine without him.”
Another source told Star earlier this month that while the Lord of the Rings actor “didn’t see this coming,” he still wants “nothing but peace and happiness” for his ex.
Bloom and Perry began dating in 2016 and were in an on-again, off-again relationship, with the actor popping the question on Valentine’s Day in 2019.
