Katy Perry Spotted on Intimate Outing With Major Political Figure Following Orlando Bloom Breakup

Katy Perry may be moving on from her ex-fiancé, Orlando Bloom.

On Tuesday, July 29, the pop star, 40, was spotted dining with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at Le Violon in Montreal, per footage obtained by TMZ.

In the video, the “Firework” singer can be seen sitting across the table from the McGill University alum, 53. The pair both appear to lean into the table as they converse.

An eyewitness told TMZ that the duo ordered cocktails and split a few dishes. Perry and Trudeau also reportedly went to the kitchen after their meal to thank the staff.

The Grammy-nominated artist is in Trudeau’s home country for her The Lifetimes Tour. She has a show in Montreal on July 30 and one in Quebec City on August 1.

As Star previously reported, news broke on Wednesday, June 25, that Perry and Bloom, 48 — who share daughter Daisy, 4 — had ended their relationship.

The Lord of the Rings actor and “Roar” singer began dating in 2016 and were in an on-again, off-again relationship, with Bloom eventually proposing to her on Valentine’s Day in 2019.

Earlier this month, a source gave Star insight into some of the problems the former couple were experiencing that ultimately led them to break off their six-year engagement.

“Katy and Orlando were both so tightly wound,” the source shared. “They started to bicker, and it got worse and worse over time. It became borderline toxic.”

The source explained that the criticism Perry received during her judging gig on American Idol also took a toll. (She exited the show in May 2024.)

“The trolling was on another level, and that pressure bled into her home life with Orlando,” the insider revealed.

Additionally, the source noted Perry was “rattled” by the backlash that her April 2025 trip to space garnered.

The source alleged that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor “was sympathetic to a point, but he grew tired of having to constantly console her.”

“It reached the point where Katy and Orlando were living separate lives and going for large chunks of time without communicating because the tension was so palpable,” the source added.

As for Trudeau, he has been separated from his wife Sophie Grégoire since August 2023. Trudeau and Grégoire wed in 2005 and share two sons and one daughter.
