Kate Hudson’s eldest son, Ryder, is about to cross a big milestone for their famous family — by being the first college grad!
On Wednesday, April 22, the Running Point actress, 47, appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where she told the host that Ryder — who she shares with ex-husband Chris Robinson — is about to say goodbye to his time at NYU.
“He’s not a kid. Ryder’s 22,” she told Jimmy Fallon. “He’s graduating college in two weeks. We realized, I think, and I could get this wrong and offend some generation in my family, but I think he’s the first person ever in my family history to graduate college.”

Hudson explained that Ryder has loved his time at NYU, but said that, like many college seniors, he’s ready to be out in the world with his degree. Although she didn’t reveal what kind of degree Ryder is getting, she shared during an appearance on the Today show that same day that he’s an aspiring actor.
According to her, Ruder also likes to make furniture.
“He wants to go into the family business,” she said. “He loves designing furniture and he’s making a sofa right now, which I’m really excited about.”
“I’m like ‘maybe go in that direction,’” she joked. “We’ll see.”
In addition to Ryder, Hudson is mom to son Bingham, 14, who she welcomed with ex Matt Bellamy, and daughter Rani, 7, who she shares with her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa.
