Kanye West turned heads by making a surprise appearance at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial on Friday, June 13.
The rapper, 48, arrived at Daniel Patrick Moynihan United States Courthouse in New York City dressed in an all-white look. According to CNN, when asked whether he was in attendance for Combs, he responded, “yes,” and opted not to answer any other questions.
Inner City Press reporter Matthew Russell Lee — who has been covering the trial extensively — took to Twitter to share his eyewitness account. “Update: Kanye West has just arrived in SDNY courthouse – I ran down to the lobby, Marshals reminds, no phones (hence, no photos) but he came in in white pants and jacket, security with him, one forgot the token they give you to pick up your phone when you leave,” he wrote on X.
According to CNN, West left the building 40 minutes later.

On Thursday, June 13, West and wife Bianca Censori were spotted out and about in New York, leaving many to wonder whether they would attend the trial. A source previously told CNN that West had been in talks with Combs’ son, Christian — who the outlet reported is working on new music with the “Runaway” rapper — to attend the trial.
West has been an outspoken supporter of Combs as he stands trial for five charges, including sex trafficking, conspiracy racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. (The Bad Boys Records founder has pleaded not guilty to all charges.)
In February 2025, West took to X to ask President Trump to “please free my brother Puff” — and he also began selling Sean John shirts on his website.
One month later, West also shared a song that he claimed featured Christian, his daughter North — who he shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian — and Combs, who was seemingly speaking from behind bars.
In the song, a man believed to be Combs tells West, “I want to just thank you so much for just taking care of my kids, man. Ain’t nobody reach out to them, ain’t nobody call them.”
“Absolutely, I love you so much man — you raised me,” West replied. “Even when I ain’t know you, know what I’m saying?”
Meanwhile, West has found himself on the wrong side of public opinion for many other reasons. In addition to his controversial tweets, the family of his wife are concerned about his influence over her. “There’s growing concern among Bianca’s friends and family that she’s trapped and married to a monster,” a source told Star in March. “That she might be afraid to leave and speak out for fear of making Kanye angry.”
