Inside Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi’s First Conversation with Her Birth Mom: ‘My Emotions are Everywhere’
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has finally gotten answers surrounding her adoption.
On the Thursday, June 5, episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, the reality star, 37, spoke with her birth mother for the first time in her life.
The Jersey Shore star was born in Santiago, Chile, and adopted by her parents, Helen and Andy Polizzi, when she was six months old.
Nicole, joined by her best friend Jenni “JWoww” Farley and an interpreter to translate the conversation from Spanish to English, began talking to her birth mom via a virtual chat.
Nicole made it clear that she wanted to know why she was put up for adoption. “For 36 years, I’ve been thinking about this question, and now the answer is going to pop up any second,” she told cameras. “This is insane.”

The interpreter then relayed her birth mom’s heartbreaking response: “When she realized she was pregnant, she told her partner, your father, and he just disappeared, leaving her by herself. She didn’t have any support at that moment, so that was the only option that she had. Even though it was painful, she had to let you go.”
After exchanging a few messages, Nicole decided to move the conversation to a phone call, explaining that she wasn’t yet ready for a video chat.
The interpreter told Nicole that her birth mom — who was audibly crying — was sorry for placing her up for adoption and said it was a “difficult time” in her life, during which she “suffered a lot” but that she “never forgot” about her daughter.
Nicole, who shed tears herself, wanted her birth mom to know she has “a beautiful life” and has created a family of her own.
The TV personality wed her husband, Jionni LaValle, in 2014. The couple share three children: Lorenzo, 11, Giovanna, 10, and Angelo, 6.

“Obviously, I’m not mad at her. I wouldn’t even be here if she didn’t put me up for adoption. I have amazing parents. I had a great childhood,” Nicole said in her confessional. “And then meeting my roommates. And then meeting Jionni. And then having my kids.”
The interpreter let Nicole know that her biological mother was “happy to know that you have a family now, and she’s very happy knowing that you were okay.”
“She’s really happy she talked to you,” added the interpreter, “and she loves you.”
While the discussion ended on a positive note, Nicole admitted she still had a lot to think about. “I am so happy that I did this, but she’s still a stranger to me,” she confessed. “I’m just so content with my life and who my parents are. I don’t know where to go from here. My emotions are everywhere.”
