As Starpreviously reported, the future king, 43, confessed that he wasn’t in “a calm state” while walking the red carpet with his wife, 44, at the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards in London on Sunday, February 22.
“Kate is William’s sounding board for everything,” says a source. “He really takes what she says to heart, so when she suggested it was time to put some new routines in place to help him cope with the pressure he’s under, he got on board.”

It all starts with finding a good work-life balance.
Aside from official engagements, “they make it a rule to eat dinner every night as a family now,” shares Star’s source. “And when William is with the kids, the phones go away and royal business gets parked for the evening, so they can actually relax together.”
Kate has cut back on alcohol too since her 2024 cancer diagnosis — and she’s nudged William to do the same, the source reveals. “He loves his wine and beer, but he’s agreed to follow her lead.”
The Princess of Wales is also “a big believer in getting physical exercise,” adds the source. “There are no days off when it comes to getting in some sort of workout and she wants William to be just as committed.”
“It’s all very sensible and simple stuff but by all accounts,” the source says, “it’s really helping William’s mood.”
