Prince William ‘Triggered’ by Report of a Movie Being Made About Ex-Prince Andrew’s Downfall (Exclusive)

Prince William and the rest of the royal family are bracing themselves for a possible movie about Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s fall from grace.

On Friday, February 27, the Daily Mail reported that Hollywood is racing to make a film about the former Duke of York, 66, in the wake of his recent arrest.

“There’s a real sense of ‘here we go again’ which has really triggered William, especially as it seems Netflix are the ones leading the way to put this movie or TV series together,” a source tells Star.

The streaming giant is allegedly considering reviving The Crown for a potential limited series about Andrew, 66, who was picked up by British police in mid-February on suspicion of misconduct in public office despite repeatedly denying any wrongdoing.

“Everyone knows how much William despises … anyone who seeks to profit off his family’s lowest points,” says the source. “It happened with The Crown and now comes yet another attack that’ll cause widespread embarrassment.”

William, 43, reportedly refuses to watch The Crown.

However, his brother Prince Harry has seen the hit historical drama, which traces Queen Elizabeth II’s rule and the scandals that ensued under her reign.

“They don’t pretend to be news — it’s fictional, but it’s loosely based on the truth,” the Duke of Sussex, 41, explained during a 2021 appearance on The Late Late Show. “It gives you a rough idea about what the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else — what can come from that.”

He and his wife, Meghan Markle, even signed an estimated $100 million contract with Netflix in 2020 after leaving the royal family — a deal that was extended in August, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, announced in a statement.

“It would come as no surprise to certain members of the Firm, William included, if Harry and Meghan weren’t privately driving this,” says Star’s source. “The fact they’re in business partnership with enemies of the Crown just about says it all.”
