For travelers who like their summer vacations with a little Americana, a little absurdity and a very specific number of loyalty points, Hilton is putting the road trip back in the spotlight.
To mark America’s 250th anniversary, Hilton is launching Hilton Honors America Experiences, a summer-long series of limited road trip packages available for 250 Hilton Honors Points each. The trips, which include Hampton by Hilton stays and gas, begin dropping on the Hilton Honors Experiences platform on May 26 on a first-come, first-served basis.
The lineup is designed less like traditional summer travel and more like a greatest-hits tour of American summer oddities and bucket-list moments. Experiences range from stargazing in Utah and watching Fourth of July fireworks in Washington, D.C., to attending the Roswell UFO Festival, getting VIP access to Pittsburgh’s pickle-obsessed Picklesburgh Festival and setting off on a two-week open-road adventure with a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee included.
“In this milestone year celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, the open road feels especially meaningful — and Hilton Honors is proud to put our members at the center of it,” said Mark Weinstein, chief marketing officer, Hilton. “Through Hilton Honors America Experiences, we’re offering once-in-a-lifetime moments for just 250 Points, honoring the timeless American tradition of road trips, shared discovery, and the kind of spontaneous adventures that happen when you pile into the car and see where the journey takes you — with a great stay along the way that helps you focus on what matters most.”
Hilton Honors is free to join, and the company says 250 Points can be earned with a single night’s stay at a Hampton. With nearly 2,400 Hampton locations in the United States, Hilton is positioning the brand as the road trip home base for the anniversary summer. According to the company, travelers on major U.S. highways are no more than 30 minutes away from the nearest Hampton hotel on average.
“For generations of travelers, Hampton has offered a reliable, trusted home base that families — including their four-legged companions — can count on at the end of a long drive,” said Shruti Gandhi Buckley, senior vice president and global brand leader, Hampton by Hilton. “As the country marks its 250th anniversary, we are proud to play a role in a once-in-a-lifetime event that feels authentic to Hampton’s legacy as a trusted stop on the road. Wherever the road leads this summer, Hampton is here to provide the comfort, convenience and welcoming service that make every mile easier.”
Some of the first experiences lean fully into the personality of American travel. The Ultimate “Pursuit of Happiness” Open Road Adventure is a 14-day, build-your-own itinerary with a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, free bp fuel for a year, Hampton stays and help from GetYourGuide.
The Great American Outdoor Adventure sends travelers through Utah’s Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks before ending with a private, astronomer-led stargazing session. The American Coaster Fast Lane Road Trip gives thrill seekers a four-day run through major amusement parks with an itinerary curated by American Coaster Enthusiasts, an ACE membership and a hands-free action camera.
Other trips go even quirkier. The Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo package drops guests into one of the country’s largest fishing tournaments. Picklesburgh offers pickle beer, pickle ice cream, pickle cocktails, pickle bobbing, pickle juice drinking, a mechanical pickle and a year’s supply of festival-favorite pickles. Roswell UFO Festival guests get VIP access to the International UFO Museum & Research Center, the drone show, judging duties for the Pet and Human Costume Contests and a place in the UFO parade.
For travelers who want the birthday-party version, Hilton’s Washington, D.C. experience includes elevated access to the Great American State Fair on the National Mall, with food, exhibits and cultural showcases from around the country, followed the next day by early access seating for the Fourth of July fireworks.
Each trip includes accommodations at Hampton by Hilton hotels, a Hampton-themed road trip starter kit and a $250 bp fuel card. Hilton says additional experiences will be added throughout the summer, with drop announcements shared through the Hilton Honors app, the Hilton Honors Experiences website and Hilton social channels.
The trips may be limited, but the idea behind them is broad: in a summer built around national nostalgia, Hilton is betting that travelers still want the open road, especially when the itinerary includes stars, coasters, UFOs, fireworks, pickles and a place to sleep at the end of the drive.
