Harry Hamlin recently reached an important milestone in his life.
The Mad Men alum, 73, discussed his sobriety journey on the Friday, August 15, episode of his and wife Lisa Rinna‘s Let’s Not Talk About the Husband podcast, and revealed he has gone one year without drinking.
“Today is one year,” he told listeners, before noting it was not very monumental to him.
“It’s not that big a deal in my life, by the way,” he admitted. “For a lot of people, stopping drinking is a huge deal. For me, it’s something I’m happy about doing.”
“It was not difficult for me at all to quit. I’m very happy,” he continued. “I was always tempted to have a glass of wine in the evening, have some liquor to go to sleep.”

The Clash of the Titans actor, who said he “lost a considerable amount of weight” from giving up alcohol, also shared that he has been sober during different times of his life and was even a part of Alcoholics Anonymous for about four years.
Hamlin said he attended “90 meetings in 90 days” when he first started, and even “annotated” the book you get in the program.
“I said, ‘If I’m going to do this, I’m going to go all in,'” he recalled.
“One of the greatest gifts that I ever got was doing that for that four-year period,” he remarked. “It’s a whole new world when you don’t use anything to numb yourself.”
