William Daniels’ Wife Bonnie Bartlett Says ‘Boy Meets World’ Cast Had ‘Problems’ Growing Up Together on Set

Bonnie Bartlett, 96, opened up about her husband William Daniels and the behind-the-scenes dynamics of Boy Meets World in an interview with Page Six published Friday, May 22.

Daniels portrayed Mr. George Feeny on the series, while Bartlett eventually joined the cast as his onscreen wife, Mrs. Feeny.

The actress shared that while Daniels, 99, has experienced memory challenges, his connection to the young cast remains. “He really loves those kids. Don’t you, Bill?” Bartlett said. “Even now when he’s forgotten so many things, I haven’t forgotten them.”

But that warmth didn’t mean the set was always friction-free. Bartlett acknowledged growing pains among the cast during the show’s seven-season run from 1993 to 2000.

“They had some problems working together as … they grew up,” she told the outlet, adding that it’s “very unusual” for child stars to continue thriving in the industry after literally growing up on camera.

Still, she praised the group. “They’re good people. They’re all good people.”

Bartlett also credited her husband with modeling professionalism for the young actors without being heavy-handed about it. “He never told them what to do, but they learned a lot just from watching him … how to behave, what is serious,” she said, per the report. “I think [Daniels] introduced them to the seriousness of responsibility.”

One costar who has distanced himself from the group is Ben Savage, 45, who reportedly stopped communicating with costars Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong and Will Friedle around 2020.

According to Page Six, the trio told Variety in June 2023 that there was no “fight” or “falling out” — they simply don’t know why Savage “disappeared.”

Bartlett revealed that the last time she heard from Savage was when he reached out about his political aspirations. “I spoke to him a few years ago when he was running for office, and he emailed us to see if we would support him, but I don’t think anything ever came of that,” she recalled, according to the article.

She also shared a life update on Savage, noting that he and wife Tessa Angermeier welcomed a daughter in November 2025. “He’s kind of out [of the acting world] now,” Bartlett said, per the report.

Meanwhile, Fishel honored Daniels during season 34 of Dancing With the Stars in October 2025, performing a jive to the Boy Meets World theme song and bringing him out for a cameo.
