Gerry Turner got to know a different version of his ex-wife, Theresa Nist, during their full first night together.
On Wednesday, November 5, the Golden Bachelor alum, 74, released a new book titled Golden Years: What I’ve Learned From Love, Loss, and Reality TV, which chronicled his journey on the hit ABC show, including his fantasy suite date with Nist, 72. The reality TV star wrote that he felt like he was with “a Theresa that I had not met before,” during their overnight date according to People.
“In the first two hours of our overnight I met a Theresa that I had not seen before,” Turner penned per People. “In the fantasy suite, she showed me a side that was not for the rest of the world but for me alone.”
“Theresa reinforced her willingness to change her life for love,” he wrote. “I learned about her high-profile job, that she is very good at it, and that she loves it.”

“I learned she is financially secure and tired of being alone. She was considering moving to South Carolina, a place I had also considered making my next home,” Turner continued, according to People. “Surprisingly, I learned that she was pissed about the horseback ride date and ‘sick and tired’ of being classified as ‘not willing to be adventurous.'”
Turner described Nist as “strong and happy and animated” during the overnight date, noting, “Ultimately, the moment I felt I had the right woman came in the fantasy suite.”
As Star previously reported, the couple fell in love on the reality show in 2023 and tied the knot in a live ABC televised special in January 2024. However, in April 2024, the pair announced they were getting divorced.
