Felicity Huffman’s Daughter Sophia Makes Rare Red Carpet Appearance After College Admissions Scandal
Felicity Huffman’s career took a hit after the college admissions scandal dubbed Varsity Blues. In 2017, the Desperate Housewives star was caught paying $15K to falsify the results of her daughter Sophia’s SATs. After pleading guilty to fraud, she spent 11 days in prison in 2019, paid a $30K fine and performed community service.
Since then, the Emmy winner, 63, wed to William H. Macy since 1997, has struggled to return to her pre-prison heights. But Sophia, whose college acceptance was rescinded in the wake of the scandal, doesn’t seem to be suffering the same fate. The 25-year-old ultimately attended Carnegie Mellon University as a student in its theater program and later landed roles in The Twilight Zone and The Chair.
On March 3, she proudly walked the red carpet at the New York City premiere of HBO’s Rooster. She plays Ronni, alongside lead actor Steve Carell. The starlet has said she’s “so grateful” for the opportunities, which include the upcoming Brian, opposite her dad, per People.
