In the East End of the Hamptons, just outside New York City, the World Cup Final will be an event for the whole community.

Celebrity haven East Hampton Village is planning a free public celebration around the FIFA World Cup Final on July 19, 2026, transforming Herrick Park into a community viewing destination for residents, summer families, international visitors, youth athletes, local businesses and soccer fans of all ages.

The East Hampton Village World Cup Final will center on a large-scale match viewing experience anchored by a 30-foot LED screen and park-wide audio system, with youth soccer programming, food and beverage offerings, hospitality experiences and activities throughout the day. It will also serve as the launching pad for the community’s Youth Soccer Initiative.

The East End has long attracted notable residents and seasonal visitors, including Jerry Seinfeld, Billy Joel, Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyoncé, Steven Spielberg, Martha Stewart, Paul McCartney, Sarah Jessica Parker and Scarlett Johansson. On World Cup Final weekend, organizers expect the worlds of sport, culture, business, philanthropy and summer life to intersect in a way that feels distinctly East Hampton.

The event will take place in Herrick Park, the village’s newly renovated 9-plus-acre gathering space bordered by Main Street and Newtown Lane, two of East Hampton’s primary commercial corridors. The surrounding area is home to luxury fashion boutiques, specialty retailers, acclaimed restaurants and hospitality destinations, giving the event a setting that blends small-town village life with the global energy of World Cup weekend.

Organizers expect around 3,500 to 4,500 people to attend throughout the day and are working with village officials to create a safe, well-managed and family-friendly experience. For a destination that already draws visitors from around the world each summer, the timing gives East Hampton a chance to turn one of the biggest sporting events on the planet into a local cultural moment.

The event will also launch the Youth Soccer Initiative (YSI), a developing community effort focused on expanding access to soccer, mentorship, scholarships and youth development opportunities throughout the East End. Dedicated Youth and Kids Soccer Zones will offer free skills challenges, soccer activities and age-based programming designed to introduce more children to the sport and encourage young players already drawn to the game.

YSI is being developed to provide accessible, community-centered programming for girls and boys, combining player development, mentorship, scholarships, community partnerships and expanded opportunities for families across the region.

The effort is being developed in collaboration with Kevin McCarthy, former executive director of Downtown United Soccer Club, one of New York City’s most respected youth soccer organizations. Under his leadership, DUSC became the only club in New York City to participate in both MLS NEXT and the Girls Academy platform while building pathways connecting youth players to collegiate, semi-professional and professional opportunities. McCarthy also previously served as a coach at Columbia University for 26 years, winning Ivy League titles with both the men’s and women’s programs.

That experience gives the initiative a deeper purpose than a one-day viewing party. The long-term vision is to create a sustainable soccer ecosystem that strengthens youth development, community engagement and access to sport throughout the East End while creating meaningful pathways for players, coaches, volunteers and local partners.

VIP hospitality areas will give sponsors, community leaders and invited guests a place to gather while supporting youth development and community engagement initiatives. Local food and beverage offerings are expected to make the event feel as much like a summer festival as a match watch party.

As more than one billion people worldwide turn their attention to the FIFA World Cup Final, East Hampton Village is preparing to give the global game a local home in Herrick Park.
