“They sat her down and were brutally honest,” a source told Rob Shuter’sNaughty But Nice Substack on Monday, April 13. “They told her, ‘We need you. We want you healthy.’ And that hit her harder than anything.”
The source said that Sean, 20, and Jayden, 19, who Spears, 44, shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline, “gave her a reason to live again.”
“Everything changed when she reconnected with her boys,” the source explained.
Plus, it was the boys’ “tears” and “real emotion” that reportedly helped the “Toxic” singer make the decision.
“Being back in her sons’ lives is everything to her,” the source continued. “It’s her priority now — not fame, not drugs or anything else. The arrest shook her, but her boys made it real. They made it matter.”
However, the source made it clear that it was ultimately Spears’ decision to get help and Sean and Jayden “gave her the strength to make it.”
As Star previously reported, the Crossroads star was arrested on March 4 in Ventura, California.

“Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in a long-overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life,” her rep told Star at the time.
“Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time. Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being,” the rep continued.
“This isn’t about one substance in particular, it has a dual purpose … this is about Britney putting her mental health first and taking some time for herself to focus on the things that are important to her,” an insider told the outlet. “She’s dedicated to working on her health. This is something she really wants to do for herself. This was her own decision.”
The insider added that the program Spears entered did not have a set time limit and instead “will take as long as she needs.”
