Britney Spears has sold the ownership rights to her music catalog in a “landmark deal” estimated to be worth $200 million, TMZ reported on Tuesday, February 10.
Music publisher Primary Wave bought the rights, per legal docs obtained by the outlet that were signed on December 30.
While the exact dollar amount isn’t listed, TMZ’s sources indicated that the 44-year-old pop star’s payment is similar to the one Justin Bieber got for his back catalogue in 2023.
Sources also told the outlet that the “Toxic” singer is “happy with the sale and has been celebrating by spending time with her kids” Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, who she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

As a source previously told Star, Sean is “still very wary of her. Jayden understands where Sean is coming from, but he’s not nearly as bothered by his mom’s antics. A lot of what she does seems to roll off his back.”
The National Enquirer reported in January that Spears’ loved ones were worried about how fast she’s been spending her fortune, which is estimated to be about $40 million by celebritynetworth.com.
“She’s pulled millions from pension and savings accounts, borrowed against the house and piled up debts that still haven’t been settled,” a source told the Enquirer. “Unless something changes fast, she really could burn through everything she has left and lose her house.”
