Aaron Rodgers had his wife, Brittani, on his mind during his first game with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2025 NFL season.
On Sunday, September 7, the famed quarterback, 41, attended a press conference — after the Steelers defeated the New York Jets — where a reporter asked him if he felt like he “wanted to prove something here today.”
The NFL star said that wasn’t the case and that he “just wanted to have fun,” and added that he was thinking of Brittani on the field.
“There were a lot of moments that I was on the sidelines just to myself, thanking my wife and my friends for encouraging me to take time with my decision, and that this would be the right decision,” Rodgers explained.
“Happy to be a Steeler and happy the way things went today,” he added.

Last month, the former Green Bay Packers quarterback revealed that one of his in-laws had actually encouraged him to sign the one-year $13.65 million contract with the Steelers.
“I was taking orders from my (new) sister-in-law, Mia,” Rodgers told The Athletic. “She’s 20 and she’s the brains of the family; you just have to ask her.”
As Star previously reported, Rodgers revealed that he’s been married for “a couple of months” in a June press conference after a reporter noticed he was sporting a wedding band.
“I’m with somebody who’s private, who doesn’t want to be in the public eye. Didn’t sign up to be a celebrity. Doesn’t want to be a part of it,” he said on the show.
