Kelly Clarkson made a big impromptu announcement during her Piece by Piece Tour show on August 19—and just the thought of her revelation brought the first American Idol champion to tears! During an emotional moment while singing “Heartbeat Song”—Kelly let the audience know that she was expecting her second child. “I was not planning on announcing this,” she said, turning around to wipe her eyes, “I’m totally pregnant!” she then exclaimed, in response to an audience member blurting it out.
The 33-year-old entertainer has had an on-and-off battle with her weight over the years, and critics have been particularly scathing as of late, criticizing Kelly’s steadily blossoming figure over the summer, prompting her to defend herself in an interview, saying “I don’t obsess about my weight, which is probably one of the reasons why other people have such a problem with it. There are just some people who are born skinny and with a great metabolism. That is not me.” The obvious cause of her fuller figure this time, though she originally intended to keep it a secret, was likely her little bun in the oven.
Mom to a beautiful little girl named River, 1, the Stronger singer also let it slip that she and hubby Brandon Blackstock have yet to mention the pregnancy to their families, although they may have surely gotten wind of the exciting news by now!
