Priyanka Chopra Slams Critics ‘Waiting’ for Nick Jonas Marriage to ‘Implode’: ‘We’re Eight Years in’

Priyanka Chopra Jonas wants the world to know her marriage to Nick Jonas is solid.

“We’re eight years in,” Chopra Jonas, 43, told Variety in an interview published Wednesday, February 11. “If people want to keep waiting for it to implode, that’s their choice. I stopped thinking about it.”

The Quantico star — who shares 4-year-old daughter Malti Marie with the singer — admitted that the criticism of her relationship used to bother her.

“I don’t know what it was about us that rubbed people the wrong way. I think there was the intercultural nature of it — different countries, different religions, age gap,” she told the outlet. “It was very hurtful. And we both, instead of looking out, just sort of looked at each other, and we were like, ‘It doesn’t matter.’ So it’s like water off a duck’s back now.”

The pair tied the knot in December 2018 after just six months together. They welcomed their daughter via surrogate in January 2022.

“I was first kind of introduced to Priyanka by way of seeing her billboard on Sunset Blvd. for her show Quantico,” Jonas, 33, told Jay Shetty on his podcast earlier this month. “I DM’d her and we messaged for about a year before we ever met in person.”

“We had a great conversation and went back to her place to have another drink. As we walked in, her mom was there watching Law & Order,” he continued. “So I met her mom on the first night that we met, which was perfect.”

The “Gut Punch” singer added, “I was like, ‘I’m going to marry this woman.’ I knew it right away. I told her I loved her after the second or third date.”
