Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s Marriage Is Strengthened By ‘Time Apart’ (Exclusive)

Distance can make the heart grow fonder — just ask Nick Jonas and his wife, Priyanka Chopra.

“Nick and Pri have taken their respective workaholic tendencies and somehow made them into their marriage’s biggest strengths,” a friend tells Star.

It helps that the couple — who share 4-year-old daughter Malti Marie — have similar personalities.

“Yes, family is incredibly important to them,” says the source. “But they also both love to be on the move, love to be planning their next project, and they both thrive with full schedules.”

In 2021, Chopra, 43, opened up about how she and the “Sucker” singer, 33, make their marriage work when their schedules keep them apart on InStyle’s Ladies First with Laura Brown podcast.

“We know each other’s hearts and we prioritize each other in everything that we do,” the Heads of State star explained. That being said, “we’ve had individual careers and we’re both very clear about never interfering in each other’s professional lives because we’re always partners and assets,” she noted.

Chopra “has never been afraid to hop on a plane and go to the other side of the world for a meeting that might win her a part, and she doesn’t need somebody to hold her hand on a 13-hour flight,” says the source. “She’s independent where it counts and Nick loves her for it.”

Jonas is just as driven.

“Nick is all about putting in the time to pull together all the moving pieces he needs to assemble for every Jonas Brothers venture, be it a tour, an album or a marketing push,” says the source. “He is the undisputed mastermind of his success [and] that’s important to Pri.”

It’s not a dynamic that works for everyone, but it does for them.

“They really are the rare example of a couple who has managed to become closer to one another as a function of how much they put into their careers,” says Star’s source. “Somehow, they really make all the time apart they have from one another into an asset in their relationship.”
