Candace Owens Slams Ariana Grande After Ethan Slater Breakup, Insists Singer Has ‘Daddy Issues’

Candace Owens wasn’t surprised when Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater called it quits.

On Monday, June 8, People reported that the “Positions” hitmaker, 32, and the Broadway performer, 34, had “quietly broken up” several months prior.

Following that announcement, Owens, 37, said the couple breaking up was “the most obvious split of all time,” on the Wednesday, June 10, episode of her eponymous podcast.

“Ariana Grande has an issue. Her issue is daddy issues, and the sport for her is in breaking up people’s marriages,” the political commentator claimed. “As soon as she breaks up the marriage, she’s not interested in you anymore. As soon as she breaks up the relationship, the fun, the sport of it is over.”

The pop star and the SpongeBob SquarePants musical star met while filming Wicked in 2022. At the time, Slater was married to his high school sweetheart, Lily Jay, and Grande was married to Dalton Gomez.

In 2023, Slater filed for divorce from Jay, 32, with whom he shares a young son, and the Grammy Award winner separated from Gomez, 30. Grande and Slater became romantically linked that year and were together for nearly three years.

“She’s trying to mend her daddy issues in the most toxic and wicked way possible. And that one with Ethan Slater — that was the highest high,” Owens declared on her podcast, before referencing reports that Grande had even met Jay and Slater’s son, now 3, when he was a newborn.

“She’s chasing the high of holding the baby. It’s a special kind of evil,” Owens remarked. “To be able to do that. To hold the baby, to rock the newborn infant, to smile.”

“You are at another level of wicked to hold an infant while you’re taking somebody’s husband and breaking up a family,” Owens added.
