Prince William brought home millions of dollars in the 2024-2025 financial year.
People reported on Tuesday, December 30, that the Prince of Wales, 43, earned approximately $30 million during the 2024–2025 fiscal year, as the Duchy of Cornwall’s June Integrated Annual Report recorded a distributable surplus of £22.9 million (about $30.9 million).
While not required, the father of three — who shares George, 12, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, 7, with wife Princess Kate — voluntarily pays income tax on his money earned from the Duchy of Cornwall.

According to the Duchy of Cornwall website, William can do as he pleases with the salary: “The revenues from the estate are passed to HRH The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cornwall, who chooses to use them to fund his public, charitable and private activities.”
The Duchy of Cornwall is an estate — created by Edward III in 1337 — that William became the owner of after his father, King Charles III, ascended the throne in 2022, as it is traditionally inherited by the eldest son of the sovereign and heir to the throne. (William also took on the title of Duke of Cornwall.)

However, there are stipulations, as William “is not entitled to the proceeds or profit on the sale of capital assets and only receives the annual income,” per the website. Additionally, His Majesty’s Treasury has to approve certain moves such as “all property transactions with a value of £500,000 or more.”
