Travis Kelce’s Hollywood Goals Are Getting a Boost From Colin Jost: ‘Just the Beginning’

Travis Kelce has found an unlikely Hollywood mentor in Colin Jost — and a source exclusively tells Star that the Saturday Night Live fan favorite is playing a key role in advising the Super Bowl champion as he looks to tackle acting in the next stage of his career.

“After helping to make hundreds of episodes of SNL, Colin has met and worked directly with just about every A-lister in Hollywood, but he hasn’t bonded with any of them the way he has with Travis,” the source says.

According to the source, the bromance started after Kelce’s successful stint hosting SNL in 2023.

“Three years ago when Travis hosted SNL, Colin personally coached him through the writing and rehearsals to great success during that weeklong process,” the source explains. “And that episode is what got people to start taking Travis’ acting ambitions seriously.”

The source also adds that the experience helped forge a friendship between Taylor Swift and Jost’s wife Scarlett Johansson, and now Kelce, 36, is hoping he can return to host when his schedule allows.

However, in order to make these dreams a reality, Jost, 44, would likely have to take a step back from Saturday Night Live. While the Pop Culture Jeopardy! host has built a successful career on the long-running sketch comedy series, the source says he has bigger Hollywood ambitions of his own.

“Even though Colin isn’t making noise about leaving SNL per se, he’s been trying to break into movies himself for a number of years now and having a famous movie star wife hasn’t really helped him very much,” the source continues. “But Travis’ rising star, and Hollywood’s ongoing fascination with Taylor herself, is something Colin can hitch himself to, and they both want to collaborate beyond just the sketch comedy of SNL.”

The source also says that Jost “eventually wants to write and produce movies as well as act in them,” and the athlete is looking ahead to opportunities beyond football whenever his NFL career comes to an end.

“It’s already a beautiful friendship built on mutual respect,” the source shares, “but this really is just the beginning for these two guys – and their wives.”
