Rosie O'Donnell and her estranged daughter, Chelsea, may have put on their smiles for the cameras on June 20 in New York City, but an eyewitness said there was some awkward tension.

Rosie and her 18-year-old adopted daughter showed up to the Fran Drescher's Cancer Schmancer Cabaret Cruise, and reportedly surprised the crowd when they stepped up to sing a duet together from the Broadway play "Hamilton."

She was later found after police tracked her down and discovered she was staying at a house with an alleged heroin addict that she met on the dating app Tinder.

"Chelsea made a decision when she turned 18 that she wanted to go to her birth mother," a rep announced around her birthday on August 24. But in October, Chelsea revealed another side of the story: she told the Daily Mail that she was kicked out of Rosie's home, also adding that her home life was messy.

"It hasn't been easy, but we love her very much, and we hope she's safe and starts to make some better choices," Rosie told Us Weekly in November. "But when a child turns 18, there's nothing legally that a parent can do, and she's turned 18. So, we hope that she is safe, number one, and that she finds her way back home."
