Joe Giudice finally got some good news. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star is being released from ICE immigration detention and can await the results of his final deportation appeal in Italy.
RadarOnline.com confirmed the immigration news. Joe and wife Teresa Giudice had requested a “stay of removal” so that he could be released from the Pennsylvania detention center where he’s been held from earlier this year. He wanted to be sent to Italy so he could wait for the results of his immigration case outside of detention.
A source told Radar that this doesn’t mean Joe will be released quickly. “He will be there for a while, they will drag this out,” the insider said, explaining it will probably take at least a few more weeks.
According to Radar, the Attorney General agreed to lift the motion, but Joe, 48, had to wait for a panel of judges to decide if he could be released. They signed off on the request on October 2.
Joe was originally ordered deported last fall at the end of his prison sentence. His first two appeals to the immigration judge and the Executive Office of Immigration were denied. Last month, he pleaded with a judge to be released, but his bond was denied.
