's last day with Kelly Ripa
may have been scheduled for September, but between tense behind-the-scenes drama,
his last day got bumped up to May. But did she plot for that day to be Friday the 13th? Kelly made sure to point out to fans within the first few moments of the show.
"Don't take this as a bad sign, it's Friday the 13th!" Ripa said to the audience.
"13 is a lucky number," Michael quickly responded. "I am happy, I'm not 6 feet under, I'm 6 feet, 5 above ground!"
While fans booed at the news this would be Michael's last time in the co-host seat with Kelly, he assured fans: "I'm not dying! I'm still in the family and I'm still available to come back if I'm ever called back co-host. I'm not gone."
And Kelly couldn't wait to toss in that she was going on yet another summer vacation in a few weeks, nudging that Michael could fill in for her since she would be gone. (As Star
readers know, when Kelly found out about Michael's departure, she took a leave of absence to avoid working with him
reported that as soon as the set finished, Kelly was in a hurry to shoe Michael out the door. "There was a team waiting backstage," the insider told Radar. "After the show, they started packing everything of Michael's to get it out of the building."
"Pictures in the greenroom and hallways will all be replaced," the tipster said. "And new logos are ready to go into place next week, without his name!"
