Meghan McCain made a stunning confession during the Watch What Happens Live! After Show on September 24. The controversial TV host admitted that she goes into work at The View “every day” expecting to be fired! She explained her fear of getting “canceled” to Andy Cohen.
Andy, who’s friends with Meghan, played a viewer question for the 34-year-old. The caller said, “I’m a huge [The] View fan. I’m a conservative millennial as well. I’m just wondering if [Meghan] ever thought about running for office.”
Andy said it was a “good question.” The Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd, who also appeared on the show, said, “I’ll vote for you.”
Meghan explained, “Honestly I didn’t [think about going into politics again] for forever and then all of a sudden — Actually I saw [Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez], a clip of her documentary and she’s like, ‘Nobody was gonna do it so I thought I better do it.’”
“You’re a woman, you’re a woman. You have to do this,” Kelly, 43, added.
“If The View cancels me and fires me, I want to go back to politics in some form or another,” Meghan confessed. “I don’t know what that means, maybe getting other people elected.” As Star readers know, her father, John McCain, was a U.S. Senator and her husband, Ben Domenech, publishes the conservative news site The Federalist.

She explained, “It’s more that tonally [and] culturally, people get canceled so easily. And by the way,
[Joy Behar] has the same thing … because we are the most honest and raw we’re always going to say something that’s going to be too far one way. I say it sort of jokingly but sort of not.”
