Lamar Odom Celebrates His Birthday With Hospital Staff After Khloe Kardashian Abandons Him On His Special Day!

Odom has been in the hospital for weeks struggling to recover after his brush with death and Khloe is ready to get on with her life. Radar reports that the reality star spent only thirty minutes with her husband on his birthday Friday!

He may be a former NBA star and husband to one of the most famous women in the world, but Odom didn't spend his birthday with loved ones -- he spent it with the hospital staff, who did their best to bring him some cheer.

“Hospital staff decorated his room with used streamers, including a ‘Congratulations, it’s a boy’ sign! The staff was very resourceful in collecting the decorations from around the hospital,” the insider revealed.

Although he knew they were hand-me-downs, Odom was thankful that the staff cared enough to decorate. “Lamar loved the sign especially, and was laughing,” the source said.

His former reality family allegedly did not show up until the hospital staff had already started the festivities. “The celebration was already under way when Khloe, Kris and Kim arrived,” the insider said.

But it was not a happy gathering when the Kardashians finally showed up for Lamar's 36th. “The mood in the room changed, and Lamar got subdued," the source observed. "Kim and Kris were friendly but Lamar didn’t understand what they were doing there. Lamar just felt awkward and was very emotional.”

Just days before Odom was found unresponsive in a Nevada brothel, insiders reported that the basketball star had become distraught after watching an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians in which Kim chided her sister for continuing to talk to her estranged husband.

“Lamar has seen that episode, and just couldn’t understand why Kim, especially, was sitting in his hospital room on his birthday, pretending that nothing had happened,” the insider revealed. "The entire family is fake and Lamar knows the only reason they showed up was to get more publicity.”
