Fans were stunned when Kim Kardashian announced that she and husband Kanye West are moving their family out to Cody, Wyoming. But no one was more surprised — or upset — than the residents of the small town, whose population is fewer than 10,000 people.
Kanye, 42, reportedly paid $14 million for the ranch, which includes 1,442 acres of eight lodging units.
On Sunday, September 15, Kim, 38, shared a video from Wyoming on her Instagram Story in which she rode behind and alongside antelopes while on an ATV. Fans slammed the video on social media, worried about the safety of the animals.
The Public Information Officer for the Cody Police Department in Wyoming told RadarOnline.com that no complaints were formally filed against Kim and Kanye for the clip since there’s “no law against chasing them or riding alongside them.” But the officer admitted that the couple could have a very hard time fitting in with their laidback neighbors.

Some residents aren’t happy about the reality stars’ property purchase at all. “It is a quiet place. There are some who are upset about the move,” he explained. “Some are apprehensive. Because of their notoriety and headlines, people are scratching their heads. People don’t like when you move from out of state and try to change the way the people are around here. The residents are down to earth and private.”

But not all their new neighbors are mad about the move. “Most people feel like me though,” the officer said. “They’re far enough out of town and they have no neighbors. I hope they enjoy their ranch.”
