Kendall, 23, told Ellen DeGeneres that partnering with the brand was “kind of a no brainer.”

“I struggled with acne when I was really young, and I've been struggling again kind of recently,” she said.

“For me it was a no-brainer because it was more like, if I could put myself out there and show that I have a way that I got clear and I struggled with the same issue, I want someone to feel comfortable enough to be like, OK, if she did then hopefully I can help someone,” the model explained.

“Beyond what it's done for me, I've seen so many of their success stories and I think it's really awesome,” Kendall said, getting emotional.

“Every time they show me I literally burst into tears because so many people have been helped by it, and I think it's really awesome,” she finished. Then Ellen gave the audience gift cards to buy their own Proactiv.

Kendall’s decision to become the face of the product has been controversial with fans. First, some were upset with her melodramatic announcement video.

Others unearthed old stories about the model where she admitted that her dermatologist was the person who cleared her skin, not Proactiv.
