Justin Bieber shocked fans when he randomly challenged Tom Cruise to a mixed martial arts fight in a tweet on June 9. And while his followers brushed it away as an eccentric moment, UFC president Dana White revealed the brawl just might happen after all.

Dana, 49, said in a new interview, “Let me tell you something interesting, obviously this came out, lots of people talk about fighting in the UFC, NFL players or celebrities or whatever, it happens a lot.”

“I saw it but didn't pay much attention to it,” he explained. But then he got calls from “a couple of real guys” who said that both Justin and Tom, 56, actually want to do it.

“I told them that if that's true — and everybody involved really wants to do it — we can talk,” he said.

Dana added that he’d be an “idiot not to make this fight,” which would be the “easiest” to promote.

But Justin admitted in an interview that he wasn’t being serious with the tweet.

“Naw... I was just joking. It was just a random tweet,” he told cameras. “The story is... I saw an interview with him. He was on my mind.”

Justin, 25, tweeted, “I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you don’t take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?”
