Madonna opened her Madame X tour in Brooklyn on September 17, but some fans went home from the expensive show incredibly unhappy. The pop legend didn’t start her concert until almost 11 o’clock at night and didn’t end the show until almost one in the morning. Her set list mostly included songs from her most recent album and she performed very few of her iconic hits. One angry fan called the performance “tacky” and “uninspired.”
Madonna, 61, is playing 17 shows at the Brooklyn Academy of Music from now until October 12. Then, she’s taking the show to Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia and Miami Beach before the end of the year. In 2020, she’ll bring the concert to Lisbon, London and Paris.
One disappointed fan tweeted about opening night, “Madonna was 2 hours late in NY & played 20 songs but mostly non-hits from the last few releases. It was double the price for a stripped-down show.”
