“She has 90 days,” Dianna said. “I couldn’t be more thankful or more proud of her because addiction being a disease, it’s work. It’s very hard. It’s not easy, and there are no shortcuts.”

She also revealed that she only learned of her daughter’s overdose after friends, who saw the news online, texted her.

Before Dianna could check for herself, Demi’s assistant called her. “She said, ‘We’re at the hospital.’ So then I knew, okay, she’s not gone,” she explained. “She’s here. And I said, ‘What’s going on?’ And the words that I heard are just a nightmare for any parent: ‘Demi overdosed.’ ”

Dianna said she "can't really say for sure" what led to Demi’s relapse. She knew she wasn’t sober, but "I didn't know what she was doing because she doesn't live with me and she's 26."

The singer revealed to fans that she had relapsed in her song “Sober” earlier this year. In it, she sang, “Momma, I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore.” She had been sober for six years.
