Celebs Are Handed Their Report Cards As Moms

Find out which moms got passing grades and who needs to get things under control.

Mom: Hilary Duff, 27, Her Kid: Luca (3). The singer/actress seems to care more about hooking up on Tinder than taking care of her son, as she sings praises to the dating app in her video for "Sparkle" yet has a heck of a time keeping Luca from making public outbursts.  "Hilary refuses to discipline her kid, and that's why he is always screaming," an insider reveals.  "She can't be bothered to say no to him, and he has learned that if he just throws a huge tantrum he can have whatever he wants.  She just thinks it's funny."    EVALUATION: C+ Children need discipline and boundaries

Mom: Jennifer Lopez, 45, Her Kids: Emme and Maximilian (7). She's had a hit movie in The Boy Next Door and is constantly touring, but Jennifer Lopez always has her twins by her side.  "She lives and breathes for those kids and would have it no other way," says a source.  "Family is everything to Jennifer.  She's always had a close relationship with her mother and always wanted that with her children.  She's a supermom!"    EVALUATION: A Is there anything J.Lo can't do?

Mom: Beyonce, 33 Her Kids: Blue Ivy (3). Beyonce and Blue Ivy are like two peas in a pod, especially on social media, where mother and daughter often pose for adorable photos together.  "Beyoncé thinks Blue Ivy is the most beautiful little girl in the world and tells her so every day," says an insider.  "Bey bathes her, brushes her teeth and potty trained her herself.  She loves watching Dora the Explorer and reciting the alphabet with Blue.  It's adorable!" And the superstar singer has big plans for her inquisitive young girl.  "Being around the Obamas has made Beyoncé think her daughter can reach the highest heights."  EVALUATION: B+ It's never too early to start molding strong, smart women.

Mom: Angelina Jolie, 39 Her Kids: Maddox (14), Pax (11), Zahara (10), Shiloh (9), Vivienne and Knox (6). Despite a packed work schedule, Angelina Jolie is rarely seen without her brood of six.  And in an inspirational and brave move, the actress--who was genetically at risk for but never diagnosed with cancer--chose to have a double masectomy and have her ovaries removed to better ensure that she will be with her kids for the long haul.  "Angie wants to see her children grow up, and she is willing to go through these incredible traumatic operations to ensure that," says an insider.  "Losing her own mother showed her how important preventive treatment is."  EVALUATION: A+ A mom all moms can look up to.

Mom: Kim Kardashian, 34 Her Kid: North West (2) As Kim struggled to finally conceive baby no. 2, one would think that she adored being a mom.  But her schedule hasn't changed much since having North. "Kim treats North more like an accessory than a daughter," says a source. "She dresses her in high-end designer outfits and drags her to fashion shows every hour of the day.  North can't sit quietly for more than three minutes--so she throws tantrums causing huge disruptions." Kim is also adamant about creating me time for herself, which includes morning workouts, glam sessions and afternoon lunches with friends. Poor baby!   EVALUATION D+ Motherhood is a lifetime commitment, not a hobby

Mom: Rosie O'Donnell, 53, Her Kids: Parker (20), Chelsea (17), Blake (15), Vivienne (12), Dakota (2) The comedian, currently in the midst of an ugly custody battle with wife Michelle Rounds, is using social media, and some say Dakota, to prove what a great mother she is. "Rosie is always putting pictures of Dakota online just to mess with Michelle, when the truth is the exact opposite," explains a source.  "Rosie uses nannies all the time, and once the kids get older, she sends them off to boarding school." There's nothing funny about that.  EVALUATION: C- Regardless of how nasty custody disputes get, the kids should never be put in the middle.

Mom: Kate Middleton, 33, Kids: George (22 months), Charlotte (1 month) Anyone who sees little Prince George with his parents can tell he is not only a happy little fellow but very confident and well-adjusted.  "Kate is really the most hands-on royal mom ever.  She makes sure George plays with ordinary little kids at the park and puts him to bed herself," says a palace insider.  "She reads to him and plays with him as much as her busy schedule allows.  There is no doubt Princess Charlotte will get just as much of her attention!"   EVALUATION: A- A royally good mom.

Mom: Michelle Duggar, 48 Kids: 19 and counting... Despite being the mother of 19 kids, Michelle may be setting new standards in backward parenting.  Not only did she help cover up her eldest son Josh's molestation of his younger sisters, but newly revealed police reports charge that she beats them with a rod when they misbehave.  Not to mention the national outrage in March when her youngest, Josie, was photographed playing near a gun on the ground.  "It's quite scary how open Michelle is about letting the kids play with and use guns," says an insider.  "It's a miracle nothing terrible has happened yet."    EVALUATION: D- Coverups? Hitting? Guns? What kind of mother is this?

Mom: Charlize Theron, 41, Kids: Jackson (3) Charlize is determined not to let her son become a spoiled Hollywood brat, no matter how luxurious his upbringing and environment.  an eyewitness saw Charlize discipline Jackson after he hit another child, and noted how strict yet kind she was.  "Charlize immediately removed him from the park and took him home.  She kept telling him how bad hitting was and that it's not OK under any circumstances.  She was tough!" No wonder Charlize plays a fierce warrior named Furiosa in Mad Max: fury Road!   EVALUATION A Violence has to be nipped in the bud

Mom: Mama June, 35, Kids: Anna (20), Jessica (18), Lauryn (15), Alana (9) Mama June is infamous for her anything-goes parenting style, first played as a joke with her sassy youngest daughter, Alana, as the centerpiece of the family's reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.  But then came disturbing reports June was dating a man who allegedly molested her eldest daughter, anna, leading to the hit show's cancellation.  "Mama June is pretty much the worst mom out there--and the laziest," says an insider. "She is completely selfish and makes no sacrifices for them.  Those poor kids deserve better!"    EVALUATION: F Now that the show's over, hopefully June can focus more on the kids.

Mom: Britney Spears, 33, Kids: Jayden (8), Sean (9) One of Britney's favorite things is to play sports with her sons. "She's a real down home southern girl at heart and she loves to tag along with the boys to play football or soccer or explore the outdoors," says a family friend. "Jayden and Sean think it's cool!" But Britney also values discipline. "She has strict rules around the house," adds the source. "She gives them allowance, but only if they complete their chores and homework."    EVALUATION: B+ A mom who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty makes for clean-cut kids.

Mom: Katie Holmes, 36, Kids: Suri (9) Katie Holmes' daughter with Tom Cruise has had a strange and very public upbringing, but Katie goes out of her way to keep Suri grounded despite the broken family's fame.  They are constantly together, and Katie even wears matching clothes to keep her happy.  "Katie was determined not to let her divorce hurt Suri, and she worked tirelessly to protect her," says an insider. "She goes out of her way to spend quality time with her daughter and never says anything bad about Tom in front of her. Suri is very loved, and she knows it!"   EVALUATION: A- Divorce is tough on kids, but Katie handled it with lots of attention and love.

Mom: Kate Gosselin, 40, Kids: +8 The notoriously controlling mother of eight has pushed her kids around so much, her eldest daughters pulled the silent treatment during a segment for the Today show out of spite.  "Kate was mortified about the way Mady and Cara made her look like a terrifying mother, but that's what she is," a source explains. "She is constantly yelling at her children; they are like little robots.  Kate acts more like a drill sergeant than a mother, and the kids are just miserable."   EVALUATION: D- Moms who scare their kids shouldn't dole out advice on motherhood.

Mom: Mariah Carey, 45, Kids: Moroccan and Monroe (4) From Mariah's social media, you'd think she's the most hands-on mother in town, but the truth is a different story. "Mariah has a team of nannies to take care of her kids, but once the twins get emotionally attached she fires them," explains a source. "One time she fired a nanny because the twins wouldn't let go of her long enough to kiss Mariah goodnight.  They cried and screamed when she tried to hug them, and she got really mad.  She basically punishes the nannies for being too good at their jon." Oh, Mariah!   EVALUATION: C- A diva onstage...and in the playroom.

Mom: Sandra Bullock, 50, Kids: Louis (5) Ever since Sandra adopted son Louis, he has clearly been the main man in her life.  The actress brings him along to the set and even has it written into her contracts that he will always be accommodated. "Sandra is determined not to miss a single second of Louis' upbringing," says an insider. "Sandra takes him to school and brings him to work with her--no nannies needed! She loves being a mom."    EVALUATION: A+ Happy and hands-on is the perfect mom combo.

Mom: Jessica Alba, 34, Kids: Honor (6), Haven (3) Motherhood made Jessica really want to give the best to her own daughters, but she found mass-market diapers, food and toys unhealthy.  So she started her own company to produce toxin-free baby products.  "When I became a mom, I finally became the person I am, that I always should have been," she says. "It's the most satisfying job in the world.  But it can also be overwhelming and confusing.  I created The Honest Company to help moms and to give all children a better, safer start."    EVALUATION: A She's a mom for all babies!
