Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams are committed to their long-distance romance despite their busy lives, according to a source.
The couple “are an awesome physical match with one another, and they do have pretty similar personalities, too,” a source tells Star. “They’ve both worked very hard to get where they are, and they’re both extremely ambitious to accomplish more.”
However, the source says that since both the Irish actor, 29, and Abrams, 26 — who were first romantically linked in 2024 — “are so busy and in-demand,” they “struggle to find personal time together.”

The source notes that the “That’s So True” singer has adapted “to the long-distance element of their relationship,” and that her family — including her famous filmmaker father, J.J. Abrams — “has been supportive and welcoming to Mescal.”
“They all got to know him last summer when everybody was in England, and Abrams’ dad, J.J., was making a new film there,” the source explains.

Regarding the Hament actor’s “long-term intentions,” the source says that’s “still a total mystery,” but adds Gracie “still has a ton she wants to accomplish on her own.”
Both the Oscar-nominated actor and the Grammy-nominated singer have opted not to divulge much about their relationship, but they have made public appearances together and gone Instagram official.

In a September interview with Rolling Stone, Mescal was asked what made him and Gracie want to go public with their romance.
“I don’t know how to answer that,” he responded. “I actually do have an answer, but everything to do with that is deeply precious to me and I don’t want to.… This isn’t … I don’t really … umm … I want to protect those things fundamentally.”
