Miley Cyrus Wants ‘To Prove’ She’s ‘Moved on Faster and Better Than’ Liam Hemsworth Amid Engagements (Exclusive)

Miley Cyrus and Maxx Morando’s romantic timeline may be linked to her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, according to a source.

As Star previously reported, the pop star, 33, announced last week that she and Morando, 27, got engaged — just three months after Hemsworth, 35, popped the question to model Gabriella Brooks in September.

“The timing of Miley’s engagement to Maxx is very suspect,” a source tells Star. “She swears it has nothing to do with Liam getting engaged [in September], but it’s hard to believe that.”

The source claims the “Slide Away” singer — who was previously married to Hemsworth from 2018 to 2020 — has been asking for “information about his wedding,” including “the date and the venue and who’s on the guest list,” as she wants to “have the bigger fairytale moment.”

However, the source notes that “it is not that Cyrus doesn’t love Mornado, she does,” adding that it’s more that she wants “to prove that she has moved on faster and better than Hemsworth has.”

Last week, the Hannah Montana alum appeared on Good Morning America and gushed over Morando’s proposal.

“I am not easy to surprise because I love to control every situation, and I had completely surrendered,” Cyrus admitted. “And I’m telling you, I was so, so surprised.”
