Leonardo DiCaprio Reveals He Hasn’t ‘Seen’ 1997’s ‘Titanic’, Despite It Making Him a Household Name

His heart has gone on.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s career success and the timeless classic Titanic are inextricably linked, but the Oscar winner says he’s never actually watched the blockbuster that turned him into a worldwide heartthrob.

While chatting with Jennifer Lawrence for Variety’s Actors on Actors series, DiCaprio revealed that he doesn’t revisit his own films, including the 1997 epic that made him a household name.

When Lawrence asked if he’d ever gone back to watch Titanic, DiCaprio answered simply, “No. I haven’t seen it,” per the outlet.

Lawrence was stunned, telling her former Don’t Look Up costar, “I bet you could watch it now, it’s so good.” DiCaprio, 51, laughed, explaining that he generally avoids watching his past performances altogether.

That sentiment runs counter to Lawrence, 35, who admitted she has occasionally checked out her own work, even if the results were …less than enlightening. During the chat, she joked that she once put on her flick American Hustle while drunk, curious to see whether she was actually “good at acting.”

“I put it on,” Lawrence admitted, “and I don’t remember what the answer is.”
