Steven Spielberg was so blown away after a screening of One Battle After Another, he told writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson, “There is more action in the first hour of this than every other film you ever directed put together.”
You definitely won’t be bored watching Leonardo DiCaprio playing Bob, a hippie ex-radical who lives off the grid with his daughter, Willa (radiant newcomer Chase Infiniti), drinking and smoking pot. When Bob’s old government nemesis Col. Steven J. Lockjaw (Sean Penn) resurfaces and kidnaps Willa, Bob dusts off his old anarchist skills to rescue her, enlisting a former comrade, Sensei Sergio St. Carlos (Benicio Del Toro), to help.

In addition to Spielberg’s recommendation, One Battle is already being touted as a shoo-in for the Best Picture Oscar, two great reasons to rush to see it in theaters, as it’s destined to be the most talked-about film of the fall.
