Kimberly Van Der Beek Shares That She Sees Late Husband James in Daughter Olivia’s Smile
Kimberly Van Der Beek is honoring her late husband, James Van Der Beek, in a touching family moment.
On Tuesday, April 7, Kimberly, 42, took to her Instagram Stories to share a selfie with the couple’s eldest daughter, Olivia, revealing a special connection the teen shares with her dad.
“My first born baby has her Daddy’s gorgeous smile 😍,” she wrote alongside the sweet snap.
The post offered fans a glimpse into the family’s life following James’ death on February 11 after a battle with Stage 3 colorectal cancer.
The couple shared six children together — Olivia, 15, Joshua, 13, Annabel, 12, Emilia, 10, Gwendolyn, 7, and Jeremiah, 4 — and James had often spoken about how much fatherhood meant to him.
“I like to take care of everybody,” he told People in a November 2024 interview, opening up about the challenges of balancing his health and family life in his final days.
“I’m a provider, and I was trying to be Superman and be all things to everybody.”
As Star previously reported, pals of the late actor set up a GoFundMe with a goal of $1.5 million for the surviving Van Der Beek brood after James’ death. To date, it has reached $2.8 million in funds.
