Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun finally settled their massive financial dispute, but the “Swag” singer won’t have to pay up until the sale of his wife’s Rhode lifestyle beauty brand reaches a close.
According to TMZ, Justin, 31, doesn’t have the cash to repay the loan that he owes Braun’s former company, HYBE America, until the Rhode money comes in.
Hailey Bieber, 28, and Justin are reportedly expected to get the check “probably in a month or two.”
Sources noted there’s not enough money left from the $200 million sale of Justin’s music catalog in December 2022 after taxes, managers, accountants, lawyers and other costs.
Fans were quick to sound off after learning that Justin would be waiting to settle his debt until Hailey’s Rhode sale is finalized.
“Justin is waiting on Hailey to pay for his bills. Oof,” one wrote in the comments section.
“So Hailey now gonna be responsible for Justin debt….???” another replied.
“Bro said I’ll pay you when my wife’s skincare bag clears,” a third posted on X, formerly Twitter.
“Now the rushed album drop makes sense. And the paparazzi stunts,” a fourth person commented.

In May, e.l.f. Beauty announced that it signed on the dotted line for a whopping $1 billion deal to acquire Hailey’s popular skincare brand, which has become a massive success — driving a total of $212 million in net sales in a 12-month cycle that ended in March.
“The $1 billion deal is comprised of $800 million of consideration payable at closing in a combination of cash and stock, subject to customary adjustments, and an additional potential earnout consideration of $200 million based on the future growth of the brand over a three-year timeframe,” per a press release.
“We can’t wait to bring Rhode to more faces, places, and spaces,” Hailey proudly shared in the statement. “Just three years into this journey, our partnership with e.l.f. Beauty marks an incredible opportunity to elevate and accelerate our ability to reach more of our community with even more innovative products and widen our distribution globally.”
The chart-topping performer is an investor in Rhode and sources tell TMZ that his cut of the deal ranges around $50 million, which will more than cover the HYBE settlement.
A rep for Hailey also told the outlet, “The historic sale of Rhode is a huge accomplishment for Hailey and is completely separate from her husband and his business affairs.”
As Star previously reported, Bieber will pay back $26 million he owed as part of a $40 million advance he got from promoter AEG for the Justice tour — a debt that was triggered by the cancellation of that tour in 2022.
Braun covered what was owed through a loan via his company, HYBE. Braun’s company will also get back half of the $11 million that he said Bieber owed in various unpaid commissions from over the years, adding up to a total of roughly $31.5 million.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Braun is stepping away from his CEO role at HYBE America, and transitioning into an executive advisory role, in which he will serve as a director of the board and senior advisor to the chairman — meaning Braun won’t be directly getting any of the money.
