Ben Affleck had no problem changing his lifestyle to bulk up for a role in Batman vs. Superman, but you won’t see his wife Jennifer Garner do the same! In the early days, the actress was constantly slimming down for her role on Alias and in movies like Daredevil, but at 42-years-old, she says that’s just not in the cards.
“There’s always a point in a fitting where I feel like, ‘Why didn’t I just try to lose four pounds and then I could wear any dress?'” she admitted to Yahoo! Beauty. “I just can’t though. I dieted for so long in the middle of doing Alias and being a superhero, that there’s something in me that can’t do anything that extreme.”
But that doesn’t mean the Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day star isn’t conscious of what she’s putting in her body. “I eat a lot, a lot of salads,” she revealed. “That’s the way I get my veggies. I eat lots of leafy greens, dark greens, with rice, too, because I want it to be a meal. I just have a big bag of greens that I get from the farmer’s market on Sundays. I keep it in a Ziploc bag and I just pull out handfuls of it for lunch everyday and add whatever I have to it.”
And, yes, there are splurges, too. “With food, I’m probably good 80% of the time,” she explained. “I’ve found that I cannot pass up pizza without having some. I just can’t! My kids have a lot of pizza. I can’t go to a kid’s birthday party without having a slice.”
