With the help of Robin Williams in 1997, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon rose to fame for the film Good Will Hunting, which they co-wrote and starred in. Following the actor’s death earlier this week, the famous friends have released statements in remembrance.
“Heartbroken,” Ben wrote on Facebook. “Thanks chief — for your friendship and for what you gave the world. Robin had a ton of love in him. He personally did so much for so many people. He made Matt and my dreams come true. What do you owe a guy who does that? Everything. May you find peace my friend.”
“Robin brought so much joy into my life and I will carry that joy with me forever,” Ben wrote in his own statement. “He was such a beautiful man. I was lucky to know him and I will never, ever forget him.”
Matt and Ben won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the film, while Robin took home the Best Supporting Actor trophy that year.
