Kanye West Ends Jimmy Kimmel Feud...But Continues to Brag

Kanye West & Jimmy Kimmel

Well, that didn’t last too long! Kanye West appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Wednesday and ended his feud with the late night host. The controversy started last week, when Jimmy made a skit mocking an interview the rapper did with BBC, and Kanye lashed out at him in a caps-locked Twitter rant.

During the appearance, Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend looked tense and fidgety, despite his confident answers regarding the incident. The 36-year-old explained that the reason he lashed out was because he knew Jimmy beforehand, and he felt that he couldn’t even trust the people in the media that he knew.

With Kanye being the show’s only guest, his interview took up the entire time slot, which was good…because he had a lot to say!

“For me, I’m a creative genius,” he reiterated. “I mean, there’s no other way to word it. I know you’re not supposed to say that about yourself, and I say things the wrong way a lot of times, but my intention is always positive.”

In the midst of a rambling segment, he explained that his goal is to help the world and the people in it…regardless of whether or not he’s a celebrity. Plus, he made sure to note that fame is the last thing on his mind. “I could care less about any of these cameras, in all honesty,” he said. “All I care about is my family, I care about protecting my girl, protecting my baby, and protecting my ideas and my dreams — and that’s the reason why I went so crazy.”

Despite his moment of slight modesty, the rapper continued to defend the statements he made in the BBC interview. “I’m totally weird, and I’m totally honest, and I’m totally inappropriate sometimes, but the thing is, for me to say I wasn’t a genius…I would just be lying to you and myself.”

Things calmed down a little bit after that, when the duo got back to the topic of Kanye’s Twitter rant, during which he admitted that, although he was angry while writing the tweets, he really just thought they were funny. “I feel like the media does everything they can to break creatives, to break artists to break people’s spirits…and I do everything I can to break the media!” he joked.

After that, Kim’s man got heated for five minutes straight while talking about his fashion line and how he’s not taken seriously for it like he is with his music. The conversation turned into him rambling about his goal to be successful in areas other than music, before he, naturally, began a rant on the paparazzi (while still tooting his own horn).

“The way paparazzi talk to me and my family is disrespectful, also,” he raged. “We bring something of joy to the world. When people hear my music, they have a good time. And I should be respected as such when I walk down the street.”
