The world may love to hate Taylor Swift, but still, her success speaks for itself. The singer was honored in Los Angeles on Tuesday for selling out the Staples Center a record-breaking 11 times.
Taylor was gifted a giant, commemorative plaque for the achievement, which featured her name spelled out in red glitter, and the cover of her albums Fearless, Speak Now, and Red. For each album’s corresponding tour, the now 23-year-old played at least three shows in the 150,000-seat arena.
Latin group Mana is the only other musical act to sell out 11 shows at Staples, meaning Taylor has beat out pop legends like Britney Spears and Madonna with her new feat. The “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer traditionally puts out albums every other year, so if she keeps to that tune, we should expect more music (and, subsequently, another tour) in the Fall of 2014.
