Taylor Swift’s two MTV Video Music Awards nominations may not compare to Justin Timberlake’s six nods, but it’s certainly a step up from Kanye West’s zero!
Back in 2009, Kanye embarrassed Taylor on live television, by interrupting her award acceptance speech and telling the crowd that his pal Beyonce is the one who really deserved the moon-man trophy. Since then, Taylor’s written a song about the incident, and clearly moved on by continuing to be successful, despite Kanye’s hate. But, four years later, she’s coolly addressed the situation once again.
“Two VMA nominations!! If you vote and get us one, I promise to keep a firmer grip on the mic this time ; ),” she jokingly tweeted.
Besides Justin, newbies Macklemore & Ryan Lewis also lead the pack with six nominations. The show will be held on Aug. 25 at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. Do you think Taylor can get off stage diss-free if she wins this time?!
