The Bachelor: 8 Success Stories!

Desiree Hartsock

Season 9 of The Bachelorette premieres Monday, May 27 with Sean Lowe’s fourth place ex Desiree Hartsock trying for another shot at love. While Des is obviously hoping for the best, a lot of times the relationships from the show (and it’s counterpart The Bachelor) don’t exactly work out and last.

However, there have been some success stories, with the show making it possible for eight current, happy couples to begin a relationship. Check out which contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are still together…even if they weren’t necessarily from the same season!

Trista and Ryan Sutter

After being rejected on Season 1 of The Bachelor, Trista Rehn came back as the first Bachelorette, where she chose Ryan Sutter as her winner. The couple was married on Dec. 6, 2003 in a three-part, televised wedding special. Since then, they’ve mostly retired from the spotlight and live in Colorado with their two kids.

Jason and Molly Mesnick

Jason Mesnick’s proposal was rejected when he was a contestant on The Bachelorette, but he got another chance as Season 13’s Bachelor. He originally chose and proposed to Melissa Rycroft, but revealed at the After the Final Rose Ceremony that he was still seeing runner-up Molly Malaney. Jason and Molly got married on Feb. 27, 2010, and have a daughter together, in addition to Jason’s son from a previous relationship.

Ashley & JP Rosenbaum

Ashley Hebert was rejected on Season 15 of The Bachelor, but found love as Season 7’s Bachelorette when she chose J.P. Rosenbaum. They were married on Dec. 1, 2012.

Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici

Emily Maynard dumped Sean in third place on Season 8 of The Bachelorette, but he came back as Season 17’s Bachelor, the show’s most recent season. He and winner Catherine Giudici have been engaged since the show ended, and are planning a televised wedding. They’ve stayed in the spotlight recently because of Sean’s work on Dancing With the Stars.

John Presser and Tara Durr

John Presser, eliminated on Season 5 of The Bachelorette and Tara Durr, eliminated on Season 9 of The Bachelor, met through the show and were married in November 2010. They have one kid.

Peyton Wright and Chris Lambton

Peyton Wright, who was rejected on Season 10 of The Bachelor, married Chris Lambton, rejected on Season 6 of The Bachelorette, in May 2012. The couple is currently happily married after a year.

Holly Durst and Blake Julian

Holly Durst was rejected on Season 12 of The Bachelor. Blake Julian faced the same fate on Season 7 of The Bachelorette. Luckily, these two got through their heartbreak with the help of one another, and they wound up getting married in June of 2012.

Ann Lueders & Jesse Csincsak

Jesse Csincsak was the winner on Season 4 of The Bachelorette, but his relationship with DeAnna Pappas wasn’t long-term. Eventually, he meet Season 13 Bachelor reject Ann Lueders, and they got married in August 2010. Now, they have one son together.
