Things aren’t so perfect between Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson.
Last December, Starexclusively reported that the former One Direction bandmates had gotten into a violent altercation, leaving their planned Netflix docuseries in jeopardy as a result. Now, there is more insight into what caused their brawl.
According to a Friday, April 17, report by The Sun, the pair’s planned show was axed after Malik, 33, punched Tomlinson, 34, in the face.
“The lads were filming on location. Zayn started acting up and was mouthing off,” a source told the outlet of the pair, who embarked on a three-day road trip in front of cameras.
“It spiralled into a row then Zayn made a remark about Louis’ mum,” the source added of Johannah Deakin, who died of leukemia in 2016.
“Louis was stunned and in shock. As he went to move, Zayn then attacked him,” the source told The Sun. “Zayn punched him straight in the face. Zayn was wearing rings so it cut his head.”
“It happened outside in front of so many people,” the source told The Sun.

Star’s insider previously echoed the outlet’s report, noting that at the end of a day’s filming, Malik and Tomlinson “went to a bar, and they got into a majorly heated argument that ended up turning physical.”
“It was so serious of a bust-up that Louis ended up with a concussion,” the insider told Star.
The “Lemonade” singer “is going through back-channels trying to obtain the footage, so it’s believed the Netflix cameras may have still been filming during the incident,” said the insider, noting that the series was unlikely to be released.
